Luigi Radice has such a long and varied history in the world of pipe making -
that he holds the honorary title of Oldest Italian Artisan Pipe Maker Still Actively Involved In His Craft.
Luigi Radice, Gigi, as he is known to all, started off in the jewelry trade as an engraver. Luigi Radice
carried this skill set with him when he started
in the pipe trade at CASTELLO, based in Cantu, not far from his own village. In 1970 he and another talented
pipe maker,
Pepino Ascorti, founded the CAMINETTO brand which was produced for ten years before problems
caused them to end production. In 1980, Gigi started his own brand, Radice Pipes, featuring his individual style. |
Later his
sons Marzio and GianPiazza joined him. The Radice family is known throughout the pipe making world for their skill,
inventiveness, and individuality.
Each pipe produced by the Radice's is instantly recognizable as a RADICE. |
