Northern Briars Lovat # 33

Lovat's are a hard pipe to make. To my eye most are too slim and delicate, considering that  the 14th or 15th the Lord Lovat (clan Fraser) - who they are named after - both were military men. Meaning what they were using was a field pipe. Comfortable enough to be clenched when needed or quickly stashed in a side pocket. This Lovat is a pipe is sturdy enough to take a bit of knocking around and deliver a normal length smoke unless the bugles are sounding.
