Northern Briars "Banker" # 22

SOLD
$305.00

A large sized Banker (GR5). Not seen as much in recent times. It has a long history. Originally it was a shape favored by wood workers, particularly those who made barrels (Coopers). Somewhere along the way they started to be called 'Banker'. Why, no idea. They were always a good sized pipe, thick walls with a making it easy to grasp, stayed cool, always a sitter so it could be easily set down when one needed to use both hands. Perchance it became called a  "Banker" being a very solid reliable pipe, that you could put down safely when you needed both hands to check paperwork, "the books". (GR 5)
