Tatsuo Tajima # 5

Tatu # 5 - Every Tatu pipe shows that Japanese pipe aesthetic. This pipe the blast is done as Japanese Raku pottery style. In that technique the vase/pot/bowl is built up very carefully with coils of clay. In this pipe Tatu has blasted it to create the same effect. Perhaps this should be called blast carving as Tatu using a fine nozzle blaster & carves the rows following the grain, somewhat like Mike Butera does occasionally. What we have in this pipe is one that is not large but has a than normal bowl depth with sufficiently thick walls so it will deliver a cool smoke. An absolutely superb piece.
