Abi Natur Tubular Bells # 1039

Abi's Tubular Bells - somewhat inspired I woulodguess by Mike Oldfield's album 1979 album of the same name - it  is short and elegant. He being a keen viewer of nature noticed that most actual Volcanoes are are not high sharp mountains - Rockies, Himalaya's, etc. but shorter and stockier, Iceland, Hawaii, Etna and more. I suspect most pipe makers like most of us have never seen an active volcano. Abi living near a few regularly active ones has. This what many of them look like. His version reflects that  shaping of collapsed lava. Not surprising possibly considering Abi's last name, then again that may be entirely coincidental.

Either way it's a great looking pipe with some deep shaping & carving.  It has a clear rivulet (deep craving) around where there bowl joins the shank. The hand cut black Vulcanite stem  compliments the bowls shape. The walls are thick at 3/8' / 11 mm. As a fellow pipe fellow put it 'there are pipes and then there are pipes".  This stunning volcano is a perfect sitter
