Northern Briars Full Bent Helix Quaynt # 15
A superb take on the classic full bent with a helix ODA bowl, making it a quaynt. With a traditional pebble shell finish and a Cumberland stem. The Helix carve has good depth between it's highs & lows. How long it took Ian to make this I have no idea. The increased surface area, created by the carve, will dissipate most of the heat & stay cool throughout. The bottoms of the vales look like scarred riverbeds, as they should. The silver band is a nice finishing touch that sets off the whole pipe. Ian firmly proves a quaynt can't be a classic but a classic can be a quaynt.
Ian is the only pipe maker still regularly producing quaynt's. A quaynt is a pipe that has a distinct difference from the regular classic shapes.
