A Pipe History.

1980 - Les Wood & Dolly founded Ferndown Pipes.

2017 – Les Wood retires, the last of the great British pipe revival generation. I then bought many of his 20 year aged bowls. Each turned, drilled, oil cured by him.

2018/19 - We introduced the Commonweal line made from Les’s bowls. Michael Parks sandblasted, finished & stained them. Charles Lemon hand cut the stems. Production ended in 2021.

2022-23 – Tatsuo Tajima produced 20 pipes. He reshaped, carved, & finished the bowls. Each with a Hand Cut Vulcanite stem. The 1^st Anglo Asian pipe’s.   

2026 - Abi Natur, made 5 with another 6 now underway. He wanted to retain the character of classic English pipes. He felt he could not improve on Les’ bowls and the best way to honor Les’s legacy was the bowls should be as he made them.

Abi then finished each with his superb unique staining, made a hand cut stem, put a silver or copper band on each. These bowls have now all been aged for twenty five years. That age is very rare pipe, indeed!
