Abi Natur Avalon # 1037

A unique piece as many of Abi's often are.  With this pipe he blends a number of different design elements. He starts with the idea of a Poker with a Plateau rim. He sees the wood grain is leading him to a ovalize bowl to highlight the superb tight flame grain, and the front becomes a keel. The grain flow cooperates and it becomes a perfect sitter with an ovalized shank. To balance out the bowl hape he creates a bulbous stem that softens the visual angularity of he bowl. The two coppered rings, one on shank one on stem enhance the look. Truly a beautifully grained and shaped pipe. Perfect sitter.
