Castello 'Collection' Tennis # 504
Castello created new and inspired versions of many classic shapes. Their Great Line Dublin’s, huge Old America billiards, their world famous and often copied shape # 55 slightly bent flake Pot and now these large straight Pot honoring the modern sport of tennis. It began in 1877 when the All England Croquet Club. Held its' first tennis tournament at Wimbledon. Ever after the sport has had ever increasing popularity.
These are large straight Pot’s; Each approaches six inches length. This shape has a strong visual presence and you can see its evolution from the # 55.
The bowl here has been shaped in a fresh way. The back end is drawn-our just a bit, and tapers towards the end. The top down view resembles a tennis racket. The wide cast silver band silver band with outline image of racket and ball at the shank to stem join accents the pipes look. Each is stunning pipe on its own. Every piece is numbered this is # 68 out of 100. Grade - Collection. Sitter.
