Nate's Bing draws from classic Merchant Service pipes. This one has a slim elegance with a good balance, important in this shape. The shank is long and thin but not so skinny that one is afraid to smoke it for it might shatter. The ring is brass. N.B. The stem is a Fishtail with 5/8" (16mm) width at the button. That gives it more strength if clenched.
