Tatsuo Tajima Japanese Poker # 39

$800.00

This is one of the largest Japanese pipes I have seen. A variation of a Poker that has very nipponese Zen Temple feel to it. The bowl is very much a tree trunk in shape, its twisted outer bark carve gives it a very organic look. While the shank being a flared square shape flows out of the bowl & is in visual contrast to it.

Tatsuo's unique bark carving on this pipe and its brown, deep bronze staining with lighter highlights enhances the deep in the forest look. One almosts expects a doe to peep out from behind it. The stem is a dark grey/black that compliments the stain. It is a large pipe and it is well balanced in the hand and a perfect sitter.
