Tatsuo Tajima Mountain Ridge # 23

I looked that this pipe for quite a while  as to what was Tatsuo's inspiration. Knowing how much he is involved in very idea of nature and that  'shinto' beliefs are basically animist it occured to me. Japan is a country of 6.800 islands all mountainous.

This is a mountain ridge line.  The bowl itself is a sharp ascending slope at the front and a gentle descending one at the back. Then it repeats itself in a lesser way on the shank. From the bottom view it appears as a tree leaf.

The pipe is healthy sized piece with much wood & perfect sitter.
