Northern Briars Teardrop # 103
Teadrop, Ian started making these around a year ago. The demand for them is steady so he keeps making them. The shape was originally introduced by Julius Vesz. Later copied by others and made exclusively for us by Giancarlo Guidi (Ser Jacopo), later by Claudio Cavicchi and in the late aughts by Castello.
The high steep angled shank make this a superb hanger - if you are so inclined - and/or an very comfortable to the hand. Ian is likely the only contemporary pipe maker producing this difficult shape. The pipe is in a light stain with that is well complimented by the dark Cumberland stem and the sterling band sets it all of. Group (4).
